So, I don’t really know how to draw side profiles for people. Like at all. Some of you observant followers may remember that one drawing of Tesla Graves or that cover for Cyrus’ Syndrome and tell me that I’m totally wrong, but the truth is I traced the outline of a face on one and heavily used reference on the other. I still was not able to even think about free-handing a side profile since I didn’t at all understand the construction.

I sought to change that and studied the construction of a bunch of side profiles, breaking down how all the shapes fit together and the anatomy of the face. And after all that, I think I’ve got it! I was able to free-hand this, so I’d say it was a success! More side profiles to come for sure.
